GEARDA DEWANTARA

Gearda Dewantara is an Indonesian guitarist, music educator, session player, producer, and actor based in Jakarta. In addition to his music career, Gearda appeared as an actor and guitarist in the Indonesian series Indukniversity of Mercu Buana in 2017 and completed six levels of Contemporary Guitar and Music Theory at LPM Farabi within just three years.

Gearda began learning guitar at the age of 13, initially studying pop guitar with his older brother before continuing his formal music education at LPM Farabi. In 2014, he deepened his study of Jazz guitar and Jazz music theory under the mentorship of Tiyo Alibasjah, Benny Likumahuwa, Arief Setiadi, Kadek Rihardika, and Robert MR.

Active as a guitar instructor since 2014, Gearda has also worked as a guitar coach for Ge Pamungkas for the film Gara-Gara Warisan (2022), where Pamungkas was required to perform guitar in one of the soundtrack scenes.

​

As a session guitarist, he has collaborated with various artists including Fadhilonn, Ricky Rantung, Bella Fawzi, Asteriska (Barasuara), Kidunghara, Chiki Fawzi, and Adrian Setiawan. He also served as a national jury member for the Indonesian National Student Art Competition Festival (FLS2N) in 2016 and 2017 and has won multiple band festivals.

Beyond performing, Gearda is active as a music producer for Fadhilonn, Lokasena, and Kluiv. He is also the founder and creative force behind the bands Inoya House and Lokasena, projects recognized for their creative pop sensibility, jazz-influenced harmony, and distinctive sonic identity.

In addition to his music career, Gearda appeared as an actor and guitarist in the Indonesian series Induk Gajah (2023).
