STEPHANUS MICHAEL JAYAHALIM

Mr. Stephanus Michael took his very first classical piano lesson at Yamaha Music Indonesia. At first, this piano lesson was his mother’s idea, but he eventually fell in love with this piano lesson and continued his lesson for six years. During his year as Yamaha Student, he scored first place on several Yamaha Annual Competition. 

As he entered junior high school, he began to take interest in pop and jazz music. He then decided to learn jazz piano under the supervision of Mr. Kinolus Thenara for another 6 years until he graduated senior high school. He also managed to took ABRSM Music Theory Exam for Grade 5 and passed with Merit. 

During his teenage years, Stephanus Michael also found love for another musical instrument which was Drums.  He then took Drums lesson at Purwacaraka and privately under the supervision of Mr. Handy Bun. 

Throughout this 12 years of learning piano and drum, Stephanus finds music as his foremost passion and decided to pursue it professionally. He then attends Institut Music Indonesia, majoring in Performance Arts.

Beside playing professionally, Stephanus Michael also finds joy in teaching. He thinks music was a great source of happiness for him growing up, and he wants every student to be able to feel the same happiness music has for him.
